Creative Craft Club-February Edition

Creative Craft Club got together this month to share the love.

I found this cute idea in the February Family Fun Magazine. (picture above)

The girls loved it, and so did I! NO HOT GLUE! (It can be hard to find crafts to do that doesn't involve handling hot glue...don't want my 5th graders burning themselves!)
What you need:
t shirt
glue stick
craft paint
heart doilies
What you do:

Use the glue stick to glue the middle of the heart doily down to the t shirt.

Paint over the doily.

Peel doily off.

Let dry.

Viola!

We all walked away with a cool new shirt to wear on

Watch Out Ladies...

Isn't he the cutest? Yeah, I am a wee bit biased, as I am the proud mama.

But seriously, cute, right? :)

Ok, so Cash totally needed (made one for Luc, too) a Valentine shirt. But you know, Valentine's Day is so very geared toward the ladies...I didn't want him to be "that kid who has to wear a girlie shirt cause his mom is overly crafty." Trust me, I have seen that kid, and NO THANK YOU.

I saw this idea somewhere...who knows? Sorry. It was probably done with a really cool silouette machine. (can you sense the bitterness that I STILL don't have one?) Since I don't have that fancy gizmo, I stuck with the "hasn't failed me yet" Freezer Paper Method. See my tutorial on how this is done, HERE.

I had to kind of explain the shirt to Cash, and yeah...he probably didn't get the full connotation. However, he still felt like a Kindergarten Hot Throb when he modeled for me.

Happy Valentine's Day

Things have been pretty busy around here. My youngest had a birthday this past Saturday, and I have been consumed with getting everything ready for his party. Now that it's over, I have a bit more time, and can update the ole blog. I can't wait to post all the pic's from the party, but since Valentine's Day is here I thought I would show these cute little cupcake toppers I made to take to our church dinner last Sunday.
I don't have any kind of fancy software or an awesome Silhouette to make cool stuff, so I just used Microsoft Word. Work with what ya got, I say. :)
Anyhoo- Enjoy the day of love. XXOO

Valentine Tree and Week

Wow. What a week. For those who don't know, I teach 5th grade. We have a big writing assessment test coming up February 1st, so we have had jam pack days of writing, writing, writing! I love teaching and teaching writing, but there is a lot of pressure on the students AND the teachers. We have been working toward this all year, however, this is the last big push. The thought of, "How can I help them be their best?" hasn't left my mind in weeks. It's exhausting! I am glad the weekend is here, and I can enjoy my loves for the next two days before beginning again.

Oh! And here is my pretty little Valentine Tree. It is simple, fun, and makes me happy. :)

Colorful Valentine's

Aren't these just the cutest? I love the color! We have had a week (AN ENTIRE WEEK!) off of school/work because of snow. I thought this would be a great time to go ahead and get Cash's valentines ready since there was a little more time than usual. I debated for a while on what kind to make, and I knew I wanted him to take something that wasn't candy. However, we settled on this recycled crayon idea since we already had everything needed, and couldn't exactly get out to the store because of the snow and ice. Plus- Cash and I made these this past Easter to give to the kids at church, and he loved them. Check the tutorial here.
