Inspired Necklace

I was recently introduced to the Ruffles And Stuff blog, and I am in love. The creator of the blog, Disney, is so very good at what she does! Ah, to be like her! So I try. I saw on this post how she made this cute "Easiest Necklace Ever" after being inspired by a JCrew necklace. I took the title to heart, and figured I could make one of my own. There's no point in recreating the wheel, and showing you step by step how I did it. Just check out her blog...you will thank me (as I thanked Erin) for showing you. Let me just show you the final product.

PS- Erin...yours is on its way!

New Outdoor Fun...TRAMPOLINE!

Andre's parents came in to town the other week, and they brought with them a special gift for the boys...a trampoline. Both Cash and Luc have fallen in love with it, and have spent much time on it since. (This wears Cash out, which is fannnnnnnnnntastic!)

I thought I would share a few pics of Cash strutting his stuff while jumping. It's pretty comical.

For the Birds (Part 2)

My friend, Erin, from A Bird and A Bean gave me a great project idea for mommy/Cash time. Yesterday, Luc-E-pooh was ill, so I was home from work. He slept a lot, which gave me and Cash loads of time for fun. We knocked out a lot of projects: blooming crayons, planting flowers, and treats for birds. I will post more on the other stuff later.

As in Erin's post on this same topic, (part 1) this is an inexpensive, easy project for the youngsters.

Here's what you need:
*bread- I used the heels out of my current bags of bread.
*peanut butter
*bird seed
*yarn
*straw
*cookie cutters- this isn't a necessity, but it makes it more fun.

It's all quite simple. You toast the bread (or leave it out to get stale), and use cookie cutters to make fun shapes.
We used these train cutters, although by the end...you couldn't really tell what it was.
Next, you spread peanut butter on the bread.
Once the bread is coated with peanut butter, just press the bread pieces into bird seed.
Use a straw to puncture the bread to make a hole, and thread yarn through. Tie yarn with enough slack to hang on a branch.
Now you are ready to hang the treat!
Now, to finalize the project...give yourself and your partner a big "thumbs up" for a job well done.

Spring Consignment Sales! YAY!

Alrighty! I am pleased to share that it is that time of year again... HUGE child consignment sales are upon us! I L-O-V-E shopping for the boys at these mother load sales. It makes me feel quite smart to be saving big bucks on cute clothing, and it tends to be more satisfying than shopping for myself (As it all looks sweet on my boys which is a far cry from my own personal shopping experiences.) So all you thrifty chics...SAVE THE DATES, and I'll meet ya there. :)

Homemade Chicken Pot Pie

Andre's parents came in tonight, and tomorrow night I will be cooking for them. Usually this is Andre's job since he is the resident cook. However, I do have a few goodies hidden in my repertoire, and homemade chicken pot pie is one of them. I pulled out the old recipe, and remembered I actually had a delicious looking photo I took the first time I made it. This recipe is easy, and tastes divine.

Ingredients:

1 lb. boneless skinless chicken breasts, cut into bite-size pieces
2 Tbsp. KRAFT Zesty Italian Dressing
2 cups frozen mixed vegetables
1 can (10-3/4 oz.) condensed cream of chicken soup
1/4 lb. (4 oz.) VELVEETA Pasteurized Prepared Cheese Product, cut into 1/2-inch cubes
1 sheet frozen puff pastry (1/2 of 17.3-oz. pkg.), thawed
1 egg, beaten

Directions:

HEAT oven to 400ºF. Cook and stir chicken in dressing in large skillet on medium heat 5 min. or until done. Stir in vegetables and soup. Spoon into greased 9-inch square baking dish; top with VELVEETA.

UNFOLD pastry sheet; place over chicken mixture. Fold under edges of pastry; press onto top of baking dish to seal. Brush pastry with egg. Cut several slits in pastry to permit steam to escape.

PLACE dish on baking sheet. Bake 30 min. or until crust is deep golden brown. Let stand 5 min. before serving.

Save 40 calories and 5 grams of fat per serving by preparing with KRAFT Light Zesty Italian Dressing, reduced-sodium condensed cream of chicken soup and VELVEETA 2% Milk Pasteurized Prepared Cheese Product.

Spring? Are You Coming?

The last few days it has been BEAUTIFUL in Chattanooga! The weather has been outstanding. The kids have gone to the park three consecutive days, I wore shorts yesterday, and today for church....skirt with NO tights! Yes! It almost seems like spring might be peeking her pretty little head around the corner.

We took the boys to River Park this afternoon. This is one of our FAVORITE parks in the area. It's right on the river (thus the name), has a great playground, and great sidewalks for walking or riding bikes. Last summer, the boys and I went there to run two or three days a week. It was fantastic.

Here are a few shots from the park, and from playing in the yard before going to the park.
