Bangles & Buttons!

Ok, so I love these bangles. Isn't it sad that I am making them, yet don't have my own? Everything I make nowdays has been going into the Chatty Crafty box. Prime example: velevet bangles. Love'em. I am making them in other colors as well. OH! Also, on some I have added a fabric flower. Can't picture it? I know, sounds "too much," but seriously cute. Will post pic soon.

For these, I simply hot glued my velvet ribbon to a bangle, and started wrapping. Hot glue the end down when the bangle is completely covered. Be sure your ends are on the inside of the bracelet. No time?? Ok, just come to Chatty Crafty (of course, you'll have to wait a couple of months..), and pick some up from Paper Wings. ;)
Another fab example: Button earrings. I think I love these because they are so BIG. It gives them kind of a retro feel, doesn't it? I also love the saucy little prints on these. Excuse the hideous ears...those are mine...I just wanted to show how, exactly, they looked on.

Fall break is next week, and this year we are staying home. Normally, I would be sad not to be traveling to the beach like we usually do...HOWEVER, this year I am psyched. I am going to lock myself in my craft room for 8 hours everyday, and kick these bigger Chatty Crafty projects out. It really excites me to think there will be more than an hour to work on something. Whoo hooo- real progress.

Rosette Book Mark

Yesterday, I mentioned that I had been working on some projects (Even though I had'nt posted in FO-EVA!) for Chatty Crafty. I also mentioned that I would post some of the little things that I had finished, so here I go...

Rosette Book Mark

The MUST have for the fall/winter season... (not really)

Whether you need a gigantic paperclip for the office.

FORM AND FUNCTION.

Or if you just want to be super stylish while reading....

Aren't they cute?!?!

Great gifts for colleagues, book club friends (I gave my book club ones similiar to this last year.), or great for stocking stuffers.

I will have them at Chatty Crafty ! :)

Or make your own.

Mesh these two tutorials together.... this one and this other one....you'll be set.

My Halloween'd Up House

Hey everyone! Long time no see...right? Yeah, I was trying to get back on track...still am...BUT there is still hope out there for me! I promise. Don't turn your back on me, 'k? :)

Seriously, now that September is over (super busy month) I am really planning on gettting my blog act together. Fo. Sho.

SO! Halloween! I pulled my decor out of the attic, and even though I didn't add anything new (boo hoo)

I did rearrange things a little bit, so it seems new-ish. :)

The pic above shows my mantle.

Still my mantle, but different view -of course. I love that sitting skeleton.

The quality of this picture leaves something to be desired, but you get it....

SPOOKY banner.

Close up of candles on mantle.

Again, same wreath as last year. For tutorial, see HERE.

Shelves inside the living room.

Even though I haven't been posting, I have been working on some things for Chatty Crafty.

I plan to share some of the little things I've made in the next few days!

Thanks for being spook-i-licious, and not forgetting about me!

Pretty Autumn Wreath

A Big thanks to all who have been patient with me, and my non posting! Ughh!! Seriously...It's making me crazy, but I just have to hold on a little longer...

Anyhoo, (as usual when school starts) I have been crazy busy. Time has been flying by. I can't believe fall is just around the corner. That makes me really, really, really happy! It's my favorite time of the year, and it's pages are full of my favorite colors!! REDS, ORANGES, and even a little GREEN!

Usually, my fall wreath is orange/red, but this year i went the olive green route. I wanted the wreath to match my new beautiful porch bench pillows, so I used the extra fabric to make a couple of the fabric rosettes. My mother-n-law had given me some burlap, two slightly different shades of khaki (one being alllllmost a greenish color), so I used it for rosettes, also. Of course, I thought I would need a small pop of red, so my final rosettes were made with a pattern that had red/orange in it. (Kind of hard to tell in these pics.) Once I made the rosettes and hot glued them onto the wreath (4.99 at Michael's) it seemed like something was missing. I just happened to have purchased some "Autumn Hydrangea" blooms for another project, and they just happen to match my wreath perfectly! YAY! NOW, the wreath was complete.

Everyone have a fabbbbbbbbbbbbbuuuuuuuuulous weekend!!

Trying to get back on track- :)

um...yeah...Hi there.

I am kind of embarrassed. Why, you ask? Weeeellllllllllllll, it's kind of been a while since I have posted. There is a valid reason, really. I recently traded in my Mac laptop for a Mac ipad. We will be getting a Mini Mac desktop soon, but until then...the ipad is it. It's totally awesome.....BBBBBBBBBBBBBBBBBBUUUUUUUUUUUUUTTTTTTTTTTT...I am still trying to figure it out. The part that's getting me right now is the photo part. I can't upload my photos to it, so that makes it really hard to post. After this long hiatus, I have finally decided that I am going to upload my pics at work, and go from there until the Mini Mac arrives. Ughh. Pain. In. The. Neck. My work computer is a PC and I am a TOTAL MAC GIRL. I have no idea how to work the photo program on this computer, so please please please be patient. :)

Ok, glad I have that out of my system. Now, on to today's post.... My sister-in-law is getting married in a few weeks, and I have been whipping some stuff up for her. Instead of a guest book where folks traditionally just sign their name, she wanted some small slips of paper to be available with pens. Guests are to write a little something to the happy couple. She found some pens on Etsy.com, but I offered to make them for her, and they turned out pretty cute!

The pics above are from my phone, and are pretty sorry. I apologize....seriously.

OHHHHHHHHHHHH!! I almost forgot! My friend, Kristy from Pocketful of Poise, and I were accepted to participate in CHATTY CRAFTY! We are sharing a booth, and so very excited!

Thank You, No...Thank You.

My sister-in-law is getting married next month, and she asked me to make a few things for her wedding. Before you even think it...say it...yes...I realize it looks pretty darn distressed. She has a vintage vision for her wedding, so she wanted the "Thank You" sign (for the couple to hold during a pic, then later send out with thank you cards) to look very worn and old.

It was really easy to make. I bought the wooden plaques at Hobby Lobby, and painted them cream. I painted the words using a paint pen (I suck using a brush), then I took some good ole sandpaper to the plaque. I concentrated in certain areas, like the corners, edges, and places within the word. For the final touch, I watered down some black paint and brushed it over the entire plaque patting it dry with paper towel.

Hope everyone is enjoying their Monday!!-
