Creative Craft Club: April

This month was the last time my Creative Craft Club at school will meet.  We only have May left before we are out for the summer, and it is a SUPER busy month for us all!  Since Mother's Day is coming up,
(MAY 13th!)
I thought this would be a cute craft the girls could make for their moms.
A couple of months ago, I made some flower pins that were similar, but made with twine and fabric. You can see them HERE.
My friend, Kristy, over at A Pocket Full of Poise had a tutorial showing how to make these felt flower pens.  You can check the tutorial out HERE.
The girls did a great job making these! Aren't they super cute?!?!
You know you want one!!

Hope you have a relaxing weekend!

December Craft club- Poppy Headbands!

This week was Craft Club week! The girls were super excited because we were going to be making headbands. The headbands we made were modeled after the poppy headband I made in the pic above.

I printed the template for the flower at Factory Direct Craft Blog .

The girls all brought:

a piece of felt

a headband

a button

I provided:

hot glue/hot glue gun

The headbands turned out really fun, and I loved to see how all the different personalities played out in this accessory!
Hard at work!

Isn't she just too stink'n cute?? :)

Spring Open House Preview!

Happy Thursday to everyone! It has been a busy and exciting week around here, and I will tell you why...this Friday is my SPRING OPEN HOUSE! YAY! I am very, very psyched about this for a couple of reasons. First of all, we are going to have 7 different vendors, and Jewel Kade is one of them. I can't wait to introduce the new spring line of Jewel Kade Jewelry to everyone here in Chattanooga! Second, one of those seven vendors is going to be....Paper Wings Studio. Yes, I am going to have a table selling my little handmade goodies again for this open house. I had such a great time last fall that I had to do it again. I would absolutely appreciate all of you coming out to support this endeavor, and I am even going to give you some incentives... (Sorry such short notice!)

I want you all to spread the word, and tell everyone you know about this event. Bring a friend, heck, bring MANY friends, and come say hello. Want to earn 30% off of a Jewel Kade item? Would that entice you to come out? Ok, you got it! Here's what you have to do...

Here are the ways to earn the discount on an item. Leave a separate comment below (HERE ON THIS BLOG), and I will keep track of the names.

1--Post about the Open House on your blog, and become a follower of my blog.
2--Post about the Open House on your Facebook status, and become a follower of my blog.
3--Come to the Open House, AND bring a friend that wasn't directly invited by me.
4--Schedule a party with me! (This is the only way to earn TWO items at 30% when you book!)

Today I am showcasing items from Paper Wings. Let me know what you think! (If you are interested in checking out Jewel Kade items, go to JewelKade.com/TracyCrosby

Another Felt Flower

These pretty little flowers have been popping up all over blogland lately, so I had to try them out. Especially now when we could all use a little POP of colorful bloom to remind us that spring is on the way.

1. Cut out 6 flower shapes in the same color about 2 or 3 inches wide.

2. Cut out a square about 2 in. and two leaves.
3. Place a dot of hot glue in the center of a flower and fold in half.

4.Place another dot of hot glue in the center and fold again.
5.Repeat #3 and 4 using the other flowers.

6.Glue the two leaves onto the square.

7. Take two of the folded flowers and glue together on the straight edge, then glue the other straight edge to the square.
8.Continue gluing the folded flowers around the square squeezing the top together.
9.Cut a smaller piece of felt, place on the inside of a clip. Cover with hot glue, and place face down onto the bottom of flower.
10. Lastly, you can choose to add a button or pearl to the top of the flower, or not. Your choice. Both ways are super cute!

You can clip these flowers to purses...

Or to your sweater....

Or to your belt...

And they make great gifts!
